Ah, the road trip, all did this. In honor of Jack Kerouac, we already stacked all six people in a five places in an attempt to see the country. As the letters in the city of New Orleans Willie Nelson blare in stereo and Willie old question: "Good Morning America, How are you?" we already all detained us responding. With the smell of mint gum and cigarettes, masking the smell of the pine tree-Purifier and the enclosure of fast-food-before the trip end-will serve as toilet paper resting against a pair of Birkenstocks, we have all embarked on a road trip, a rite of passage, a tribute to freedom and perhaps one of the most uncomfortable journeys ever invented.
Cars, as a mode of transport, are not intended to be comfortable. They are usually compact, muffled, and a meeting of body odor. Still, road trips are still a favorite pastime of American culture. For those of us who can't afford the trip in a limo, or an RV, there are some tricks of the trade for the road trip more comfortable.
Know your rest stops
There are excerpts from the American system of highway where there is not a single bathroom. While some people can see a tree and think, "" bathroom, most others see a tree and think, "tree". Because of this, it is important to know where are the rest stops and, most importantly, know where they are not localized. If you are about to embark on a road trip, rest stop locations map previously. This way you will know if you can drink a pint of coffee, or if the litre, should be more like a Cup.
Bring a pillow
We have all gotten a: a print window in our tests. This results in the final analysis, to sleep with your head against the window, getting a neck Cramp and leave passengers in passing cars find your nostrils. Although a car is not exactly the best place in the world to sleep, is certainly not a latex or memory foam mattress, bringing a pillow can relieve the discomfort. Sustain a pillow against the window will be much more comfortable than against the window itself to sleep. Of course, pillows and sleeping must both be avoided altogether for the person who actually does the driving.
Go hiking
Road trips are fertile ground for leg cramps, a place where the pains and sufferings come together to attack the joints and muscles. Because you are stuffed in a car for hours at a time, leg cramps have no problem of development. The best way to prevent its development is to stop every two hours. If you stop at a rest stop, or simply pull over on the side of the road, exit car, stretch your legs and walk. Even do jumping jacks and calisthenics, we promise it won't look the cars passing on the road.
Bring your own music.
We all remember being kids and road tripping with our parents. As we were stuffed in the back seat, among our brothers and sisters, forced to hear our parents sing a Duet of Sonny and Cher I Got you Babe, wished to change the radio station for something that we wanted something totally cool. Good music is the key to a good trip. But, remember, even if you are traveling with people their own age, although there may be some discrepancy of what constitutes good music. Rather than fight in stereo, just bring a Discman and listen to what you want. Yes, even Bette Midler.
Road trips are fun. But, not always they are the most comfortable thing in the world. They get long, grow boring and there's only so many times you can play rounds of before you start to irritate even yourself. But, with these tips, Road trip can be a little easier, a little more comfortable and a bit less likely to make you want to put your head through the windshield.
